Aunjanue E. Taylor Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American actor-producer and stage actress has been known for her roles in the feature film Ray Undercover Brother as well as on The Mentalist. She has an BA in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in theater, film as well as television. Her stage debut was in the year 2000 and went onto appear in mainstream, independent, as well as television shows. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for which she received not just praise from critics but also numerous nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. She started her career as an actress in 1995, when she appeared as Ariel in The Tempest. Her film career is highlighted through her performances in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her work in television she has been praised for her part as the regular character in ABC's cop drama High Incident.
